The most common type of car dents are those sustained from doors of nearby
vehicles. Such damage can easily be protected against with the use of The
Scratch Pad, but what about damage from the back, on the top, or in the front?
Sometime there’s just nothing you can do against hail, rogue shopping carts, and
spontaneous Frisbees. If or when you are lucky enough to sustain this unexpected
damage, paintless dent removal is more often than not most viable option.
Paintless dent removal, or the massaging of dents with rods from the interior,
is very inexpensive, both monetarily, and in terms of time.
Paintless Dent Removal
Trained technicians with mirrors, special lights, rods, and something
reminiscent of a miniature crowbar, will spend anywhere from ten minutes to an
hour gently massaging the car dents or dings from the inside of the panel, until
the imperfection is nearly impossible to spot. The process is mind boggling.
Many start off by setting up a mirror laden with vertical black lines. They use
the lined mirror to find the eye of the ding, from which they then being the
massaging process. Depending on the severity of the dent or ding, the paintless
dent removal process costs anywhere from twenty to fifty dollars. Unfortunately,
this process may not be efficient for dents or dings sustained on door edges or
in creases naturally present in the bodywork.
Paintless dent removal is a relatively new procedure; since its introduction,
the process has revolutionized car body repair. Before this procedure, it was
common for customers to leave their car in a shop for upwards of seven days. The
car would then undergo sanding and repairing, only to be painted all over again.
This procedure is far too expensive and elaborate for minor dings, which is
precisely why painless dent removal has become so popular for minor car dents. |
